Aromatherapy

Research shows that aromatherapy works by stimulating smell receptors in the nose, which then send messages through the nervous system to the limbic system which is the part of the brain that controls emotions.

We utilize Aromatherapy in Wellness, occasionally. (upon request)

To make your own aromatherapy spray at home, follow the instructions below:

Ingredients:

½ c of distilled or filtered water

¼ c of Witch Hazel

¼ c of Vegetable Glycerin (Optional)

20-40 drops (depending on desired strength of scent) of essential oil of your choice

Glass spray bottle

Instructions:

❏ Pour each ingredient in the bottle.

❏ Shake the bottle

❏ Spray to gauge strength of scent and add additional drops of essential oil as desired.

Suggested Essential Oils:

  • Lavender - calming, relaxation, and distressing benefits

  • Citrus (Lemon, Lemongrass, Orange, etc.) - Energizing benefits

  • Peppermint - Antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, benefits

  • Palo Santo - Calming, grounding, and relaxation benefits
