This course is an introductory woodworking course.
Emphasis is on “learning by doing" through assigned and individual woodworking projects.
The project component of this course introduces the student to the techniques of joinery used in basic cabinetry construction.
Students will pay for their own projects.

This course is the introduction to Electronics and Robotics. Students will build small projects to explore the basic building blocks of electronics, including microcontrollers.
The activities are very hands-on and the students will be able to build projects they can take home.
In addition to the course fee students will need to pay for projects not covered in the fee.

Drafting 10 introduces students to techniques, practices, and standards in Computer-Aided Design (CAD).
Students learn basic drafting skills, including sketching and creating working drawings.
The course covers orthographic, isometric, oblique, sectional, and auxiliary views.
Students also explore pattern development and basic 3-D modeling.

This introductory course explores photography and graphic design, covering both technical and aesthetic aspects.
Students will learn compositional guidelines, how to read light, and gain an introduction to Photoshop and Lightroom as a tool for enhancing and creating dynamic images.

Drafting 20 teaches architectural drafting techniques with a focus on residential construction design.
Topics include residential design, foundation techniques, wall sections, floor plans, roofing, and fasteners.
Students gain a strong foundation in Building Information Modeling (BIM) through these topics.
The course involves computer-based learning and hands-on modeling.

This course is an intermediate woodworking and building construction course.
Emphasis is on “learning by doing” through framing a model shed and completing an assigned cabinetry project, supported by theory-based learning.
Students will pay for their own projects.

Emergency Services 20 provides a hands-on introduction to firefighting, EMS, Policing, and Search and Rescue.
The course focuses on real world challenges, helping students develop problem-solving abilities and prepare for the fast-paced nature of emergency work.
First Aid and CPR C certification offered in course at an additional cost.
Opportunities to connect with industry professionals through guest speakers, field trips, and emergency scenarios.
Includes discussion of emergencies, critical incidents, and high-pressure decision making. While every effort will be made to support students, the content of this course can be emotionally challenging at times. If you have questions regarding this, please speak with Mr. Fitzgerald.
Includes sustained physical activity, students should expect elevated heart rate and exertion at times.

What you need to know:
This course builds on the foundational objectives of Photography 10. Knowledge of camera controls and some Photoshop skills are necessary.
We will explore lenses, filters, studio lighting, photo editing and manipulation.
Students will build a portfolio of original work including portraiture, studio lighting, landscapes, and special effects to demonstrate how aesthetic and technical choices will affect the final image.

Emphasis is on “learning by doing" a student choice project focusing on cabinetry or a wood framed project.
Students will pay for their own projects.
Prerequisite: Emergency Services 20 or Department permission is required.

Students create advanced 2D and 3D models, including section views, fasteners, joints, and piping designs.
The course covers schematic drawings, auxiliary views, engineering design, and fabrication.
Learning combines computer-based work and hands-on modeling.

In this course there is further exploration of dynamic image making.
Students will expand their technical skills while exploring commercial, artistic, and experimental avenues of the photographic world.
Photo 30 students will also learn the process of film and developing in the darkroom.
There is increased emphasis on individual interests and choice as students create a portfolio of their own work.
