Wellness 10 aims to help students develop behaviors that support lifelong health by incorporating daily physical activity, personal fitness goals, and exploring various lifestyle topics such as nutrition, stress management, and mental health education.

What you need to know:
Personal Fitness 20 focuses on general fitness and is designed to provide introduction and develop broad understanding of fitness in relation to general health and includes a variety of training methods.
this class is based in the weightroom, with some travel to fitness facilities in the community.
This course will be offered in a female only (PFT20LF) and a mixed option (PFT20L)

This course is designed to provide students with the opportunity to experience a wide range of lifelong physical activities and leisure pursuits, as well as further develop individual skills, tactics, and strategies.
Focus will be placed on student leadership, injury prevention and management, nutrition, mental wellness, Indigenous Games, and the lifetime pursuit of recreation and leisure.
Physical activities may include golf, yoga, martial arts, lawn bowling, bowling, curling, squash, tennis, badminton and others. Course material will vary each semester.
Some travel over lunch may be needed to get to some of the activities in this course.
Driver's Education cannot be taken in conjunction with Physical Education 20
What you need to know:
Mental Wellness 30L is a ministry-approved, locally developed course that helps students understand different aspects of mental health challenges, mental illness, as well as, create a personalized mental wellness plan. Topics of study include the difference between mental health and mental illness, stigma and its impact on the individual, the concept of resilience, and how developing resilience impacts the mental well-being of those individuals experiencing symptoms of poor mental health. Students will have access to tools to create a balanced life and wellness in all domains of their lives (mental, physical, spiritual, emotional, and social).

This course is designed to provide students with the opportunity to experience a wide range of lifelong physical activities and leisure pursuits, as well as further develop individual/partner/team skills, tactics, and strategies.
Focus will be placed on student leadership, exploring exercise physiology, biomechanics, nutrition, sport psychology, Indigenous games, and the lifetime pursuit of recreation and leisure.
