Band 10 rehearses every other day and is a full year course.
Students will work to develop the following skills and musical components: technique, rhythm, aural skills, interpretive concepts, theory, and historical knowledge.
Performances that are part of the curriculum will include: a fall concert, Saskatoon Music Festival and spring concert at Marion Graham Collegiate.

Open to Gr. 10, 11, and 12 students. No musical background required.
Through the rehearsal and performance of a wide variety of quality repertoire students focus on the fundamentals of choral singing by developing enhanced vocal technique, musical literacy, ear training and listening skills.
Performances may include evening concerts, music festivals, an optional overnight choir trip, and other community performances. Participation at festivals and public concerts is expected from the students.
This class can be taken as an eleventh class. Choral 9, 10, 20 & 30 is non-semestered and runs from 7:45 - 8:45 am, three mornings a week, all year.

Explore a variety of dance styles including, but not limited to hip hop, contemporary, and jazz.
Students will choreograph and perform dances in settings outside of the classroom (pep rallies, basketball games, etc).
Students will explore dance related career paths, learn about historical and cultural events expressed through dance, and respond to dance compositions and investigate dances from a variety of Indigenous cultures.

The main focus of this course is on personal development and acting skills.
Units of study include mime, improvisation, movement, speech, and script study.
Students will develop a broad range of acting skills and confidence on and off the stage.

Discover the FUNdamentals of music and guitar performance through a modern lens, exploring theory, history, composition, recording technologies, ear training, AI-created music, songwriting, and listening! This blended course, offered at the 10-20-30 levels, embraces the diverse experiences and abilities of students, fostering a unique and personalized learning journey.
Depending upon personal ability and interests, this course may be converted to a Music 10/20/30 credit.
With an emphasis on individual context and learning styles, students set personal goals, select repertoire, and collaborate with the instructor to design assignments once foundational skills are established. These goals align with each student’s interests, ambitions, and abilities, ensuring both achievement and enjoyment.
A guitar will be provided for in-class use.

Students will develop self-expression and technical skills through:
Four major areas (drawing, painting, sculpture and printmaking)
Several genres (still life, portraiture, figure, landscape, nature, architecture, nonobjective)
Variety of media (graphite, coloured pencil, charcoal, conte, pastel, ink, acrylic, watercolour, clay, etc).
Students will be introduced to informal class critiques, complete sketchbook exercises and be given an opportunity to complete an independent project of their choice.
The works of Saskatchewan artists (past and present) will be explored.
Become familiar with the creative process and learn to see and reflect as an artist.

Studio Art 20 is designed to cultivate artistic expression and skill development in students interested in pursuing Advanced Placement Art at the 30 level.
Through exploration of various mediums, techniques, and concepts, this course aims to foster creativity and critical thinking by using inquiry to begin developing a body of original work that investigates a series of ideas.
Critical analysis of artwork occurs regularly, allowing students to become increasingly skilled at assessing their own work.
Required that students have a mixed media (or other quality sketchbook) that allows for practice/experimentation with various mediums (no smaller than 8x10).

What you need to know:
This course is designed for highly motivated visual art students.
Students will begin to compile a portfolio in one of the following areas: Drawing, 2D design, or 3D design.
In addition to instructor assessment, the portfolio will be graded at an external evaluation in May by the College Board. Life drawing, potential field trips, and a final exhibition will be highlights of this course.
Required that students have a mixed media (or other quality sketchbook) that allows for practice/experimentation with various mediums (no smaller than 8x10).

This semester two course is designed to meet the needs of Advanced Placement students who are completing a portfolio for submission to the College Board in May.
Students will be completing their Sustained Investigation and Selected Works, organizing the final exhibition, and submitting their own portfolio.
