Welcome to Springside's Early Years Foundation Stage.
In September 2012 we opened a new purpose built Early Years Foundation Stage Unit for all our youngest children. ‘The Early Years Foundation Stage’ includes all Nursery and Reception children.
We call our Nursery age children our ‘Acorns’ and our Reception age children our ‘Oaks’! The children learn through a balance of play and well-structured adult led activities. EYFS staff will liaise with you on an informal basis each day. A weekly Home-School Diary is shared with you, along with lots of photographs on Tapestry, so we can work in partnership and you can be fully involved in your child’s Early Years Foundation Stage Experience.
Springside Primary Growing Together - where every child matters and is prepared for a future of possibilities in a secure, caring and stimulating environment where everyone is ‘Safe, Respectful and Ready’.
Our EYFS unit enables our children to enjoy learning within our nurturing unit where they are able to grow in confidence through positive relationships.
Our curriculum is carefully designed to ensure our children have the broad range of knowledge and skills required to make the secure foundation that can be built on in the future.
Our learning interactions have our six ‘R’ values at the core: Respect, Relationships, Resilience, Resourcefulness, Responsibility and Reflection & Aspiration.
Our curriculum decisions are informed by the school’s five Curriculum Drivers (Confident Communicators, Global Citizens, Real Life Specialists, Life Long Learners, Inquisitive Thinkers) which take into consideration the unique context of the school and local area. It also links with the year 1 curriculum so that strong foundations are built and transition to the National Curriculum is smooth.
We look forward to welcoming you into our Springside Family as your child begins their Springside journey building the secure foundations for their education and their life-long love of learning.
