Advanced Placement (AP) courses are presented in cooperation with the Advanced Placement Program of the College Board across many subject areas. All students enrolled in AP courses are required to take the end of the year AP exam during the College Board mandated testing window May 4th-8th and May 11th-15th (exact dates to follow).
AP exams are scores on a 1-5 scale. Many college and universities award recognition for scores of a 3, 4 or 5. For some colleges, the recognition permits students to skip certain entry-level courses and enroll in more advanced level courses as a freshman. For others, college credits are awarded. Students may check for details on how AP test scores are managed for each college or university their are interested in by contacting their college or university of choice.
Please keep in mind that it is the responsibility of the student to send AP scores to each school directly from the College Board. AP scores are made available to students in July each year through a student's College Board account.
