Each year this award is presented to an outstanding student in the vocal music department. This year’s recipient is an extremely dedicated, hard working, and talented young musician. This student’s drive, passion, and perseverance has led to much success during their time at Southeast Polk. This year’s recipient was a member of Chamber Singers and RAMification, had leading roles in our musical productions, and was a Triple Threat contender in the Iowa High School Musical Theater Awards. When she decided she wanted to become a music teacher, she immediately signed up for piano lessons, knowing it would make her a better section leader now and one day, a better teacher, as well. I am both proud and pleased that she has chosen to pursue further study in the field of music. She’s an outstanding example of a strong, talented, hardworking young woman.
