Oustanding Senior in Family and Consumer Science

Spenser Abbas

Every year we honor our seniors that have shown that they are dedicated to our areas of education. The beauty of Family and Consumer Sciences lies in being an area that all students can participate in, can find something they excel in, and find something they love. For some students, they just love being in my classroom! To be the Outstanding Senior in Family & Consumer Sciences, I look for a student who has done well in the 5 offered courses and participated in FCCLA (Family, Career & Community Leaders of America). Over the last 4 years, 168 members of the senior class have taken an FCS course. That is 33% of the seniors if you were wondering! 39 have taken 2 courses, 19 have taken 3 courses, and 6 have taken 4 courses in FCS.

This year, I have 1 senior who has taken all 5 courses and was also in FCCLA. Congratulations to Spenser Abbas!
