I had so many outstanding seniors in my class this year, and it was difficult to pick just one. I chose Emma Kottlowski because of her dedication to the healthcare field. Emma always gives 100% in the classroom. She participates in class discussions, uses her time wisely, and helps other students who might be struggling. Her work outside of the classroom is evident in her test scores. During clinical time, she was able to build great rapport with patients and residents. She would never stand around looking for something to do. She would take initiative, and I could often find her engaging in conversations with the residents. She passed the State competency testing to obtain her CNA certification, and recently began employment with a long term care facility in the Des Moines area. I have no doubt that she will excel at GrandView University in her pursuit of a nursing degree.
