Texans can dial 2-1-1 (option 6) for information on COVID-19 and local community resources on health care, utilities, food, housing and more.


The Food Cupboard, located at 812 25th Street in Snyder, Texas is open on Tuesdays from 9am - 12pm. There will be a new flow that will allow for the safest protocol


Snyder Community Resource Center funds the Blessings in a Bag program, supplies volunteers for the SISD meal distribution and offers and facilitates other community assistance programs. (325) 436-0294


Scurry County United Way has partnered with SCRC to provide emergency relief to families affected by COVID-19. This program does not duplicate services that are already made available within our community. The main goal for these funds is to assist individuals and families in this time of crisis with their basic needs & ensure self-sustainability. Services are limited to: housing, medical, utilities, and food.

Policies & Procedures

  • Client(s) can only be assisted one time per household, regardless of what category they are assisted with

  • Client must be a resident of Scurry County

  • Individual must be able to provide income verification for previous year

  • Individual must have a Photo ID

  • Client must provide a copy of bill or proof of need (i.e. appointment card, etc.)

  • Client must be directly impacted by COVID-19 crisis & provide adequate documentation regarding such.

    • Adequate documentation includes:

      • Letter from previous/current employer

      • Phone call verification

    • Examples include, but are not limited to:

      • Layoffs

      • Substantial decrease in hours

      • Pay Cuts

  • If there are other community resources to assist (i.e. food cupboard or Scurry County Welfare), client is referred to these entities.

Utilities

Hermleigh Water Works: Scurry County Treasurer’s office is closing to the public as of Tuesday, March 24, 2020 in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Hermleigh Water Works patrons will not receive a late fee or be disconnected this month due to this closing. Please send check or money order to: Hermleigh Water Works
