Get ready to turn the page! Read Across America Week (March 2ā6, 2026) is the nationās largest celebration of reading, designed to inspire a lifelong love of books in children of all ages. All classes will be doing various activities to celebrate reading all week long!
Additionally, this week our school will be having college and career week. This week is designed to help students explore future possibilities, build awareness of career pathways, and connect their learning to life after graduation. Each day will have a designated dress up day if your child would like to participate.Ā

Narrative Writing
Students are working hard on writing a narrative about a time they learned a lesson. Our main goals are for them to add lots of details, dialogue and show actions and feelings of the characters.
Next up: Opinion Writing
Students will think about all of the stories we have been reading in Unit 6 and have to choose which character is the smartest and makes the best choices using evidence from the story.

Students are allowed to possess cell phones and other electronic devices such as watches,Ā iPads, Nooks, Kindles, and other tablets on campus. All electronic devices must be turned off during the school day unless specific permission is granted by a teacher or administration. Students may not record, video, or take a picture of another student or staff without prior written consent. All electronic devices may only be used for educational purposes under the direct supervision of a teacher or administration. Electronic devices can be used before and after school to call and text messages only.Ā Otherwise, devices MUST be kept in backpacks during the instructional day.Ā Students will have access to their backpacks in case of an emergency. Students may not use their personal devices to call or message home during the day. All students who need to call home must use school phones with permission from the teacher or staff during school hours. Consequences for not following our school policy: Items may be retained in the Assistant Principal'sā office for pickup at the end of the studentās school day. At teacher or administrator request, a parent/guardian may be required to pick up the studentās electronic device. The school will not be responsible for loss or theft of electronic devices. From Music Post - VAPA DAY - We are in the planning stages for our second annual VAPA Day on Saturday, April 25. If you'd like to be part of the planning team please š¶fill out this form. We will need help with elementary concerts, booth sales and set up, concessions, food trucks, and more. Last year's inaugural event was fantastic and we'd like to expand this year!Ā
