Hi everyone! I cannot wait to meet my new students and learn all about each of them!
Here's some information about myself:
I grew up in the Bay Area and moved to San Diego to attend SDSU after high school. I continued on to earn my Masters degree in Cross Cultural Education. I have been in education for 21 years, entering year 22 with your sweet kiddos! My first three years of teaching were spent in Hemet teaching 2nd grade. After that, I moved to SMUSD to teach 4th grade at San Marcos Elementary School for 10 years. Then, for two years, I worked as an Instructional Coach/TOSA focusing on (teaching staff members) technology and math. Seven years ago, I decided to make some changes, and go back into the classroom, here at Double Peak! I love being a ☀️ SUN! Teaching children is my passion and truly brings me so much joy. I cannot wait to meet my new students and families and get the school year started! They are going to ROCK 3rd Grade!
My husband, daughter, dog and I live in Encinitas. We love going to the beach, going on hikes/walks, watching Padres games, seeing live shows and spending time with family and friends. Leah, my daughter, is a 7th grader here at DPS. We are so excited to start a new year together!
I believe that each child is a unique individual who needs a safe, caring, and stimulating environment in which to grow and mature emotionally, socially, and intellectually. It is my desire as an educator to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by providing a classroom environment that is safe, supports risk-taking, and invites a sharing of ideas. As a teacher, I am a lifelong learner, and I hope to instill this same belief onto my students.
