My name is Ms. Sherlock and I am so excited to be your teacher at Double Peak! This will be my 15th year teaching for San Marcos Unified. I started my career as a reading intervention teacher, and have taught 4th grade, 1st grade, and now have moved to 3rd grade.
I have always had a passion for helping others and working with children. My grandmother was the principal of the K8 school I attended, so when she went back to work, I did too. I spent every summer helping the teachers and office staff get ready for the new school year. So it was no surprise that after earning my bachelor's degree I went on to receive my teaching credential.
I grew up in Orange County, moved to San Marcos to attend college, and have been here ever since. I live in San Marcos with my 3 boys. We are super active and love anything and everything outdoors.
I am looking forward to meeting all of you! This is going to be a wonderful year, and I can't wait to see what we accomplish together!
My mission as an educator is to inspire students to discover the genius within themselves and to believe in their limitless potential. I strive to create a classroom where every child feels seen, valued, and capable of achieving great things. By encouraging perseverance, nurturing curiosity, and celebrating effort, I want my students to understand that challenges are opportunities to grow. I am committed to guiding them, supporting them, and believing in them every step of the way so they develop the confidence and determination to pursue their goals and never give up on what once seemed impossible.
