NWEA MAP Growth

Description:

• NWEA MAP Growth is an adaptive assessment used to inform educators most impactful decisions about student learning. Implementation allows us to:

  • Screen every student with an accurate, efficient, and effective universal screener for RTI, MTSS, and other models.

  • Place students precisely into the programs that will maximize their growth.

  • Drive instruction with strategic, data-driven decisions to help students access grade-level content.

  • Accurately measure growth over time with the grade-level independent RIT scale.

Teacher Access:

• Log into NWEA using your email address

  • Create a new account or reset your password if needed

  • If you have problems, contact speng@smuhsd.org to get your account set up 

• Create and save a test session NWEA - Manage Testing Sessions (mapnwea.org) 

• Pausing a test session allows a student to use the bathroom and return within 25 minutes of the test session

• Suspending a test session allows a student's answers to be saved and then continue at a later session date/time

Student Access:

• Students login with the NWEA Secure Testing app on their Chromebooks

• Students log in to the test using a Session ID and a password that are both generated on the teacher's device once the teacher creates the session

Accommodations

• Accommodations embedded into the exam:

  • Universal Accommodations - these can be provided by the proctor

    • Breaks, English dictionary, scratch paper (must be collected after the exam), thesaurus 

  • Designated features for individual students

    • Text-to-speech is not available for this exam

    • Color contrast - may be enabled at the student level when creating a test session
