With the introduction of the story 'Wow said the owl' we learnt all about the term "nocturnal". We discovered the differences between night and day. We compared the colours we see in our environment to those we would see at night.
We collected leaves from our garden using the rakes to create a habitat for the owl.
Pete the cat arrived in Nursery on the Monday morning, bringing us a story all about his shoes.
We really enjoyed Mrs Peters reading this story... she does the best Pete the cat accent!
We enjoyed listening to t he story in our key groups and then individually, remembering the key points of the story.
Pete the cat even enjoyed a weekend with one of our friends where they visited a local farm.
We printed out a range of colours of shoes from the story to promote our knowledge of patterns.
Some of us challenged our skills further by attempting to complete ABAB and ABC patterns.
We introduced a game using our shoe flashcards to continue to develop our ability to recognise numbers when in numeric form.
We then used counters to match the quantity on the shoes.
We then collectively added to a group collage to create our own class Rainbow.
As well as learning the Rainbow song, we also learnt the correct sign for the colours. Here we are showing you our new skills.
As part of our S.C.A.R.F unit 'Me and My Relationships' we celebrated ourselves as individuals and the people who are special to us.
They formed this amazing SCARF display.
The children made collages of themselves and we then displayed them in our Nursery with their individual photographs.
The children drew their self-portraits in frames that they decorated with their favourite resources.
Our families showed us how much they loved us by completing a love heart for our display and attaching our family photos. We discussed how the special people in our lives help to look after us and teach us many things.
We celebrated our families and those who are special to us.
