Cotton bud painting/wriring shared by Jacob in RD.
Jacob made some super sock puppets.
Jacob made some lolly iceto learn about freezing. He also put ice in 3 bowls and added cold water to one, salt to another and hot water to the last one to see which would melt first.
Some of the manipulatives are for older children but you might like to use the dice, counters, numicon, counting stick and coins etc.
Why not make your own sports day like Bonnie and Penny. They had lots of fun doing different races and games.
If you're not scared of a messy activity:
Jess made a pink raincloud in a jar using water, shaving foam and food colouring. Jess then added a fizzing tablet and it turned into a volcano!
Another fun science experiment:
Daniel mixed olive oil, water and some red food colouring to a glass. Then he dropped a soluble tablet (closely guided & watched).
The soluble tablet disperses and makes bubbles like a lava lamp.
It was interesting to watch the oil and water separating too.
Evie made different types of boats and took them to a stream to test if they floated or sunk.
If you are finding your child is losing interest in learning. Finley's mum put separate challenges into an envelope and pretending his teacher had posted them- worked a treat:)
Maybe a fairy or a favourite character could leave some challenges for your child?
