Project
This project is designed to provide a full year's worth of public library programming for children ages 0-12. Incorporating the concept of multiliteracies, the programs included are fun and educational, are tailored to all children and to their various types of learning styles, and incorporate the five modes of literacy found below (Baker, 2017):
Visual Literacy
Textual Literacy
Social Literacy
Digital Media Literacy
Multisensory Literacy
Location
As the name suggests, the Imaginary Public Library is a fictional public library. For the purpose of this assignment I have based the library in the California Bay Area; all of the guest speakers and performers are also Bay Area-based. Where I have linked to real library resources, I have used my home library, the Oakland Public Library.

In addition to the home page, this website includes four different sections. Each section has a drop-down menu for navigation, or you can click on the section title to be brought to a main title page. The below links will take you to each section's main title page:
Recurring Programs - Broken down by children, middle grade, and families, this section includes all of the weekly and monthly recurring programs for the library. Each month will also list out the recurring programs available that month.
Monthly Programming - This section is broken down by month (with one additional page for the budget) and includes an intro to the month's theme, the STEAM and craft topics, a list of recurring programs, the unique monthly programs, recommended reading and the Bookworms Book Club pick of the month. Each book in the recommended reading sections are clickable links, which will take the user to the book's entry in the Oakland Public Library's online catalog.
Summer Reading - This page includes an infographic outlining the library's summer reading program, along with helpful resources for additional information. Summer reading runs from June - August, and the special summer reading events are called out within each month's unique programming.
Forms - throughout the website, there are online forms for patrons to utilize when coming to the library in-person isn't feasible. In addition to these forms, there is also a programming survey.
Some helpful links are also listed on the bottom of the website.
