March's Theme: The Library
We are taking the month of March to celebrate the library. Our challenge to you is to find one new thing to explore at the library - maybe it's our tool lending library or our seed library. For an extra bonus challenge, bring a friend who hasn't been to the library and help them get their own library card. We love our library!
Date & Time: All month long; submissions due by March 30
Description: Every year the library holds a contest to design a new library card. We will have three competitions - children, middle grade, teens - and at the end of the month, we will announce 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for each competition. You can use any medium you like; the only requirement is to make sure your design fits on an 8x10 inch piece of paper. Designs can include drawings of the library, our city, or anything that is interesting to you. All submissions will be displayed in the library display case for the month of March. If you need any art supplies, you can check them out from the library - just ask a librarian. Happy drawing!
Staffing: 1 library staff member to collect submissions, then an additional 5 library staff members to act as the judging panel.

Date & Time: Thursday, March 2 @ 3:30pm-5:00pm
Description: Karaoke? At the library? To celebrate our library this month, we are turning the teen room into a karaoke studio! Enjoy your favorite tunes and sing your heart out - no need to be quiet, and we guarantee, there will be no shushing in the library today.

Description: Libraries have a huge impact on our communities and that wouldn't be possible without all of the hard working library staff at IPL. We love our staff at IPL and they want to get to know all of you. Our librarians work hard to ensure our library is a safe and welcoming space for all patrons and we want to show our patrons what they do every day. We will be hosting a panel with a library assistant, library aide, and our children's, teen, and adult services librarian, to share what they love about working at the library and their favorite things offered at the library that you may not know about. Refreshments will be served and there will be time for audience questions. We hope to see you there!
Staffing: 1 libray aide, 1 library assistant, children's librarian, youth services librarian, adult services librarian, and 1 additional library staff member to act as the panel's moderator.

Come guess how many bookmarks are in the jar! Winner takes home the jar contents and a book.
If you are unable to visit the library to guess in person, a picture of the jar and its contents is posted on IPL's Facebook page, and guesses can be submitted using our guessing form found here.
Good luck!
