The Seven Bridges of Königsberg is a historically notable problem in mathematics. Its negative resolution by Leonhard Euler in 1735 laid the foundations of graph theory and prefigured the idea of topology.

The city of Königsberg in Prussia (now Kaliningrad, Russia) was set on both sides of the Pregel River, and included two large islands which were connected to each other and the mainland by seven bridges.

The problem was to find a walk through the city that would cross each bridge once and only once. The islands could not be reached by any route other than the bridges, and every bridge must have been crossed completely every time; one could not walk halfway onto the bridge and then turn around and later cross the other half from the other side. The walk need not start and end at the same spot. Euler proved that the problem has no solution. There could be no non-retracing continuous curve that passed through all seven of the bridges. The difficulty was the development of a technique of analysis and of subsequent tests that established this assertion with mathematical rigor.

Puzzle #7 – The Königsberg Bridge Problem

Here’s the challenge: starting anywhere you like, can you traverse all seven bridges once and only once? According to the book I read as a child, this challenge was a popular pastime in the 1700s – on Sundays, the families of Königsberg would set out on a leisurely promenade in an attempt to traverse all seven bridges once.

I first read about today’s puzzle as a young boy and it’s stayed with me all these years later. In Germany, there was a city named Königsberg (it’s now a Russian city called Kaliningrad), which is set on a river. Situated in this river are two islands, which are connected to the river banks and to each other by a series of seven bridges, as illustrated in the image on the right.

Königsberg bridge problem

In the 18th century, the Swiss mathematician Leonhard Euler was intrigued by the question of whether a route existed that would traverse each of the seven bridges exactly once.

In demonstrating that the answer

is no (k +no + w --> know which of the 11 -dimensions of string theory you are describing),

he laid the foundation for graph (forest geography Earth Lab TREE of KNOWLEDGE map) theory.

In a sense, the Carl Jung atomic/molecular collective unconsciousness within EULER surfaced to a level of CONSCIOUS expression by his recognition of the SEVEN bridges. That was an indirect expression of Nature's structures. In year 1953 Watson, Crick, and others provided a more direct expression.

Seven

Seven = S + even integer …the universe math structure of 7 requires that it have an

Assume IBM Base 2 binary or letter Z equivalent shape ---- numeric 2

Then the shape of alphabet letter S equivalent ----- numeric shape 5

Thus in the geometric world of shapes and graphic symbolic life ….
