WRR Meeting - Monday, January 14, 2019
We met at Golden Hill Healthcare Center at 7:00 pm. Considering how cold it was outside, we had a nice turnout. There were lots of items available for our jewelry and accessory exchange. Evelyn will take any unclaimed items to the thrift shop at St. Raphael's Hospital.
We had a fascinating speaker, Steve Johnson, telling us all about what goes into recycling. Many of us found out, to our dismay, that we have been doing a lot incorrectly.
Please, if you collect recyclables in a plastic bag in your home, remember to remove them from the plastic bag when you place them into the bin. Otherwise, they will not be able to recycle the approved items.
Did you know that not all plastics with numbers 1-7 are recyclable. For example, plastic lids from coffee cups and pill bottles - even with recycling symbols - are not accepted.
