(Mike Moriarty, Archdiocese of New York) Regularly represent a prominent New York-based Catholic organization in connection with a variety of matters including corporate projects, employment law issues, pension issues and litigation matters.
(Mike Moriarty, Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York) Represented a prominent New York-based Catholic charity in matters concerning social service agencies, as well as nursing homes under the sponsorship of the charity.
(Mike Moriarty, Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Brooklyn / Queens) Represented a Brooklyn and Queens-based Catholic charity in matters specifically related to nursing home financing.
(Mike Moriarty, De La Salle Christian Brothers) Represented a community of religious men that operates a variety of schools throughout the United States in connection with real estate transactions, establishment of new schools, sales and disposition of properties, as well as a variety of corporate projects. In addition to representing the organization, we have also represented a variety of schools sponsored by them in connection with general corporate real estate and litigation projects.
(Real Estate – Acquisitions / Sales, website Feb 2012) Counsel to a religious organization in numerous sales of land and transferable development rights in Manhattan, including the preparation and negotiation of many zoning lot development agreements, declarations of zoning lot restrictions and ancillary agreements.
(Real Estate – Development + Land Use, website Feb 2012) Represented a large religious organization in connection with the disposition of transferable development rights appurtenant to a number of New York City parcels.

The projects included obtaining a real property exemption for a retreat house facility in upstate New York, advice relating to the operation of a homeless shelter in the Bronx and the transfer of the shelter property to an affiliated not-for-profit corporation.
Litigation & Disputes
(Bill Cagney, Mount St. Mary Academy) Represented a religious academic institution on employment issues work and served as chair to its board.
(Bill Cagney, clients unknown) Represented various cemeteries and burial associations in the New York Attorney General’s investigation of charities.
(Bob Mercurio, First Roumanian American Congregation) Represented an orthodox Jewish congregation in New York City, in a number of corporate matters and in connection with the successful prosecution of contested insurance claims to recover full benefits under the congregation's property and casualty insurance policy after the roof of their synagogue collapsed.
(Bob Mercurio, unknown client name) Represented a group of parishioners of an orthodox Jewish congregation in connection with a battle for control of the congregation's governing body and the congregation's valuable real estate. The action involved a challenge to court action that effectively inserted a civil court into the adjudication of a purely religious dispute.
(John Holden, for Mike Moriarty’s client Catholic Archdiocese of NY) Represented a prominent New York-based Catholic organization in a variety of litigation matters, ranging from complex fraud claims to garden variety premises liability claims.
(Matt Daus, Resurrection Church of NY) Represented a New York-based religious institution with respect to buildings department issues and a contractual dispute with an office supply vendor.
