ULEC represents various community organizations in Newark who are opposed to the utility's plan for siting of the Switching Station and prevailed in separate proceedings before the NJ BPU and the Newark Board of Zoning Adjustment. PSE&G has taken an appeal to the BPU's decision but has stated that it would prefer to resolve the dispute over the siting plan through mediation (which is currently underway). The mediator is Retired New Jersey Supreme Court Justice James H. Coleman, Jr., currently Of Counsel at Porzio, Bromberg & Newman, P.C. PSE&G has agreed to be responsible for our firm's legal fees in connection with the mediation and the negotiation of a Community Benefits Agreement between the parties.
