A little motorcycle ride on Route 66 to enjoy some BBQ before heading to Mill Creek tomorrow.
We weren't out on the peninsula this time but still had a great view on site #15.
This year we were surprised by Susan and Mike, friends from Arkansas, who came to camp for a few days.

Another beautiful evening
Our first trip since Lars was diagnosed with cancer. His desire to camp outweighs any chemo side effects during the "off" week of treatment.
Looking from Bellevue, IA over toward Illinois, the mighty Mississippi River doesn't disappoint for ship watching. The weather was fairly good, chilly but mostly sunny and a bit windy.
I love that he feels good enough to get outside have campfire, take pictures, fly the drone and enjoy the sunshine.
The bright light of the night barge coming down the Mississippi River.
Good morning, Lars view while slowly pulling up the windshield shade. An office with a view is the best way to work.
Another good morning, I will perpetually be the one who gets excited about all the colors in the sky at dawn or dusk.
If you get the chance go visit this little town, Galena, IL Galena's historic Main Street is a walkable area filled with antique shops, restaurants, and boutiques. It's located in a river valley and serves as the starting point for Illinois' Great River Road along the Mississippi River. The area features several wineries and a distillery, with options for tasting tours.
Galena was preparing for the Halloween parade that was to start in the evening.

The creek that passes through the campground and flows into the Mississippi.
The fall colors were starting to appear in Bellevue later in the week that we were there.

Fried chicken dinner for him and the large, thin tenderloin on a standard bun for me. We enjoyed the people, service and food. If we are in the area again, we will stop by.
The last sunset before heading home in the morning.
Not the way to end the trip, stranded at the dump station. Why won't it start? Low fuel pressure, but why? We did get back on the road about 6 hours later, once a service guy helped us out with a little ether.
