PiKapp on Flickr
PiKapp photos are now being collected on Flickr by Jim Tucker. These photos will be available on a CD for everyone attending the 50th Anniversary Celebration.
If you want to become a friend/contact to view the Flickr site, send Jim an email at pikappaphi50@yahoo.com , include “Flickr” in the subject line and he will invite you to become a friend/contact. As a friend/contact, you will be able not only to view the photos, but also make comments.
All Photographs MUST be received before March 1st, 2011. Due to the time it will take for Jim to burn a CD for each brother attending the PKP 50 Anniversary, any photographs received after this date will NOT be included in the collection.
Please follow instructions carefully:
a) Collect digital photographs or scanned images (300 dpi or greater) in jpeg format.
b) Edit file names to comply with requested format: {Graduation Year}{Brother’s LastNameFirstName}{Picture#}
e.g. 1976TuckerJim123.jpeg, 1976TuckerJim124.jpeg, etc.
Note: This naming scheme will allow for the photographs to be organized by year, allowing 50 years of brothers to quickly view the photographs in which they are most interested.
c) Copy the digital photographs into a dedicated folder on your computer. (Makes it easier to locate to upload.)
There are three ways for your photographs to be uploaded in the PKP50 Anniversary collection:
1. If you prefer, Jim will be happy to upload your digital photographs: email the properly named digital/scanned photographs to Jim at pikappaphi50@yahoo.com
OR
2. Copy or Burn digital photographs to a memory card/jump drive/thumb drive or CD and mail them to Jim. Send email to
pikappaphi50@yahoo.com and ask for the mailing address.
OR
3. PREFERRED : Upload digital photographs directly to the PKP50 Flickr Account
Instructions to Upload Photographs to PKP50 Flickr Account:
a) Collect digital photographs or scanned images (300 dpi or greater) in jpeg format.
b) Edit file names to comply with requested format: {Graduation Year}{Brother’s LastNameFirstName}{Picture#} ; i.e., 1976TuckerJim123.jpeg, 1976TuckerJim124.jpeg, etc.
c) Copy the digital photographs into a dedicated folder on your computer. (Makes it easier to locate to upload.)
d) Open your Web Browser (Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox)
e) Go to www.flickr.com
f) Click on “sign in” in the upper right hand corner of the webpage
g) Enter the Yahoo! ID pikappaphi50@yahoo.com
h) Enter the Password. Send email to pikappaphi50@yahoo.com asking for the password.
i) Click Sign In
j) You are now signed in as an administrator to the PKP50 Flickr Account. PLEASE DO NOT CHANGE ANY SETTINGS. PLEASE USE THIS ONLY FOR UPLOADING LARGE FILES -- SEE ABOVE FOR BECOMING A FRIEND/CONTACT SO THAT YOU CAN VIEW THE PHOTOS AND COMMENTS ON THEM
k) Click on “Upload Photos & Videos” – upper right
l) Click on “Choose Photos & Videos”
m) Select the photographs. For Multiple selections, click one photo, then hold down the Control Key (CTRL) and click to select several photographs.
n) Click on “Upload Photos & Videos”
o) After these upload, click on “Home” & Click on Your “Photostream” to view all PKP50 photos. (Middle)
p) Close the browser & You are DONE!
As there are a large number of brothers using this Flickr account, please be considerate and get-in, upload the photos, then close your browser and get out. If you want to become a friend/contact to view the site without being logged on, send Jim an email pikappaphi50@yahoo.com and he will invite you to become a friend/contact.
