Pieces of Advice

• Seek advice in with any questions - don't wait
• Use WASDA and AWSA
• Treat your All Stars like All Stars - Office Staff - Business Manager
• Take Care of Yourself
• Take Care of your Admins, Teachers, Etc.
• Be visible to the community
• Be visible to your family
• Make the school look professional - furniture, pictures, etc.
• Make your staff look professional
• You can only do so much
• Put your family first, or your Marriage will die
• Be careful of doing your work at home
• Be on the cutting edge - what is in the future - Best practice may not always be the "best"
• Call the Lawyer
• Just Listen - All Staff - Kitchen, Support, Teachers, Etc (What's Right, What's Wrong)
• Stay Connected with everyone (especially kids)

Duties for 1st Year

• Spokesperson for the school district
• Provide a clear vision
• Clearly understand the intentions and focus of the district
• Attend school district events
• Actively be engaged and attend non-academic activities
• Socialize with stakeholders outside of the school setting or school day
• Encourage their staff to attend community or student events
• Understand the culture and events happening within their community
• Understand rituals, celebrations, and activities and give respect or give thanks to correct individuals or groups
• Fair, ethical, and moral decision making
• Act with integrity
• Respect and interact with all people, groups, religions, business, organizations, etc
• Reach to these organizations for help, support, or suggestions
• Analyze feedback to create new district strategies or vision
