One or two special features of the school.May Include

Confirm common goals among stakeholders.
Invite others to participate in creating the vision.
Don't rush.
What are some of the common values?
Review others vision statements.
Start with key values, beliefs, and ideas!
Less is sometimes more meaningful

Questions to ask of the Vision

What is the need for the new vision?
Will we be able to live with the new vision?
Will we be able to support the new vision?
What will the new vision expect of individuals?
How will the school change?
Is the vision achievable?
What can we do to make this vision an reality?

Question your Vision

Create a statement that is easy to understand
Is it too long? too short?
Are the statements too vague? too specific?
Are the objectives or goals appropriate for the mission statement?
Do they have direction?

Make the Most of Your Mission Statement

Establish it
Make decisions using your Mission
Revisit the Vision Statement
Reflect on it annually
