Beng: Chikrassy (?)
A large handsome tree with a generous crown. The newest leaves of the long feather compound leaves are fulvous red
Bark: Rusty brown, becomes cracked rougher with age
Leaf: Large 50 cm long with about twelve pairs of long tapering leafless, asymmetrical at base.
Flower: In loose clusters, male and female flowers in different trees petals 4-5 yellowish white, stamens fused in a column (like neem flowers)
Fruit: dark woody capsule 5 cm long

Range/habitat: Native of moist forests of India, Bangladesh (especially Chittagong district) also southeast Asia

This tree has died in a storm in 2024
