A strikingly tall evergreen tree from central African tropical savanna, has feather compound (paripinnate) leaves that bear dark green, almost oppositely arranged leathery leaflets up to 7 pairs.
Bark: Ashy, scaly, pink tinged
Leaf: Feather compound, very long, in tufts at the end of the twigs, leaflet up to 7 pairs. Leaflets are almost opposite, shiny leathery.
Flower: Small, in loose sprays, 4 white petals; male and female flowers in separate trees
Fruit: An upright woody capsule, usually not found in Kolkata (TBV)

Range/habitat: Native of central African tropical savanna, found in moist depressions.
