This part of Rabindra Sarobar is the west side of the lake garden road, variously know as small lake or Maneka side lake. This is shown as zone 4 and zone 5 in the official map of KMDA (below)
We will enter by Gate number 7, from Lake Garden Road (shown as Baroj road in the map above). Just outside this gate there is a statue of Rabindranath Tagore, which can help as a landmark.
Some 50 feet inside, on your left side, you will find a Colville's Glory tree, a rare tree in Kolkata which bloom in late monsoon in grapelike orange flowers. Unfortunately, this tree is currently (Sep 2025) labelled as Gul mohur or Krishnachura, which it resembles very closely when not in flower.
