The Jaguars under head Bill Cherpak won their 6th straight Big Eight Conference championship ending the season at 6-3. The team began the season ranked #? in the WPIAL and were looking to make a bigger impact in the WPIAL scene by returning to the championship caliber teams of year's past.
The season began with a tough opponent in the traditionally tough AAAA powerhouse Woodland Hills. The game was nationally televised, and the Jaguars were never really able to get anything going in the game and lost 31-7. The team would also lose a weapon on the outside with receiver Nick Raimondi to a knee injury. With the game behind them, the team turned its focus to winning the Big Eight Conference.
The next eight games would see the team run a record of 6-2, and establish themselves again as the class of the Big Eight, even with a season ending loss to West Mifflin.
Offensively, they were led by seniors Ryan Ruffing, Dom Presto, and Zach Shademan with a strong offensive line. Presto and Shademan proved to be a potent combo in the passing game, and turned in historically terrific numbers. While Ruffing established himself as one of the top yardage gainers for his career in school history.
Defensively, they were led by all state linebacker Bruno Natter, ....
The Jaguars would find themselves in familiar territory by hosting the first round of the playoffs, and won an exciting game in overtime verse Greensburg Salem 34-28. Dom Presto scored the winning touchdown. They would lose in the second round of the WPIAL playoffs to the Knoch Knights, ending a terrific season.
