Virushi and Bwaps for TS
Two of the seemingly more popular minor races from Classic Traveller are the Bwaps, short for Bawapakerwa-a-a-awapawab, and also referred to as Newts, and the Virushi. The information here is intended to serve as a starting point, more detailed background information for each race can be found at the URLs shown below.
Bwaps
Bwaps are humanoid amphibians with a keen interest in the proper workings of the universe. They are highly detail oriented and can be frustrating for non-Newts to deal with, particularly because of their methodical nature. Bwaps tend not to pursue military careers but can be found in large numbers serving as bureaucrats and in the sciences.
Newts evolved on a particularly humid world and rapidly become uncomfortable in less humid environments. To offset this problem, they wear special garments to keep their skin moist. This is the reason in part that they require tools made especially for them.

Virushi
The Virushi are a massive, peaceful race from a high gravity, dense atmosphere world. Since they occupied a niche at the top of the planetary food chain, the Virushi never developed violent tendencies and acquired a highly individualistic nature. While they are physically well suited to combat, their pacifism and limited ability to take orders make them poorly suited for military careers.
In game terms, when a Virushi is confronted with a violent situation, the individual must make a Will Test at TN-2 to respond in a violent manner. There is no penalty per se for failing the roll such as freezing in panic or being forced to flee, the option to use violence is simply excluded.
