This lesson was taught during phase 2 of my fourth year practicum. It was the third lesson in the sequence to consolidate students understanding of the different makeups of families, their differences and similarities and how to communicate this. The first lesson in the sequnce saw the students listen to an audio book of Goldilocks and they compared both Golidlocks's family and the three bears family. The second lesson saw the students read the story Max by Bob Graham which represented a superhero family with the grandparents living in the house with Mum and Dad, Max and the pet dog. This lesson then continued exploring families in stories with the Owl family of Mum and three baby Owls. The culminating activity was students representing their own families and then comparing and contrasting with their peers.
