During my time as a teacher aide and pre-service teaching I have had the opportunity to work with a diverse range of students. I have supported and taught students with ASD, asperges, cochlea implant, hearing impairment, ESL and Indigenous students. This has allowed me to incorporate many inclusive practices, such as
Multiple opportunities for students to experience concepts
A variety of formats such as visual representations and hands on learning
Small group work
Peer tutoring
Differentiation to the content, product or process such as the student using a computer to record their response
Using sound fields and FM systems
Explicit and pre teaching of concepts
Acknowledging Multiple Intelligences proposed by Dr Howard Gardner
Embedding Indigenous perspectives into the classroom and learning
Using productive pedagogies to self reflect in the four areas of intellectual quality, supportive classroom environment, recognition of difference and connectedness.

This work sample was completed during the year 2 Dr Seuss author study alliteration activity on my third year practicum. This student has a verification as ASD and his handwriting is very poor. To ensure his full participation in this task I chose to work with him one on one. The student was able to communicate his ideas to me so that I could scribe it for him. The picture was completed by the student.
