17 - 20, Nov. 2016: Joined annual meeting of Zoological Society Japan (joint meeting with 22nd International Congress of Zoology) held in Okinawa. I was one of the symposiasts of a symposium, "The Things We Can Learn from Xenopus : Past, Present and Future" and talked about my recent study about the genetic relationship of Xenopus tropicalis strains currently used in the world (Igawa et al. 2015).

After the conference, I moved to northern forestry area called "Yambaru". I haven't been there for three years (excluding some short trips to join meetings) after I worked with the frogs living there. I could finally see the endemic fascinating frogs!
