Aim

A vibrant relationship with God is characterized by a loving obedience to God.

1. Obedience to God (Deuteronomy 27-28)
2. Covenant with God (Deut. 29)
3. New heart for God (Deut. 30)
4. New covenant in Jesus (Galatians 3)

Principle

A relationship with God must contain obedience to God.

• We obey Jesus because we love Him!
• A loving relationship with God has obedience to God--obedience to God is a matter of your heart for God.

Principle

Obedience to God is based on the written Word of God.

• Read God's Word with the intent of learning to more fully obey God!
• Deut 28:26
  • We are called to uphold the law given to us from God!

Principle

The blessings of God are found on the path of obedience to God.

Deuteronomy 28:2

"blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God"

God chose us because He loves us!!

Principle

To love God with all of my heart, I must obey God with all of my heart.

Here are 6 steps to take if you don't feel like loving God:

1. Confess it to God.
2. Understand God's love. (see John 4:19)
3. Pray for God to reveal His love to you.
4. Spend time along with God is His Word. Suggestion: gospel of John
5. Meditate on Jesus' death for you. (see Romans 5:8)
6. Don't rely on feelings--obey God and your love for God will grow!

God will circumcise the heart, so we can love Him. He will remove the bad parts of our hearts. This happens to our hearts when we accept Jesus and become filled with the Holy Spirit.

Principle

Jesus was cursed for my disobedience and I am blessed for Jesus' obedience.

-Don't doubt Jesus; obey Him!

-Choose life in Christ and listen to Him! The Lord is our life!
