God is always choosing us. He waited until we chose Him. He wants us to give with a willing heart and offer ourselves to serve as a living sacrifice.
In Exodus 30-31, incense was burned to symbolize the prayers of God's people. The incense was to be continually burned, just as we are to continually pray to God. Through constant prayer, we are able to follow God's plan for our lives. Exodus 25:9 tells us to make things according to the pattern from the Lord. Since the old testament, God has been giving us instructions for what we are to do. It is up to us to listen, pray and obey Him.
The Lord wants us to follow Him with a willing heart. While we offer our bodies as a living sacrifice, we are choosing to follow God. We do this of our own free will. God wants to be with us eternally and dwell with us in His tabernacle. He gives us instructions and commands for how we are to do this. If we believe that Jesus died for our sins and we accept Him into our lives, then we will be saved through His sacrifice (John 3:16).
