Aim: God created me and redeemed me to do His work for His glory!
1) Giving to God-----------------------Exodus 35:1-39:31
2) Working for God-------------------- Exodus 39:32-40:33
3) Seeking glory for God--------------Exodus 40:34-38
Who should give? How should we give?
-Everyone who is willing (should be all of God's people!)
-People with spiritual gifts should give their services/abilities.
-Things needed should be given!
Question: are you willing to give what you have and what you can do?
-give with a free-will offering
-offer our bodies as a living sacrifice
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. (Romans 12:1 NKJV)
Then everyone came whose heart was stirred, and everyone whose spirit was willing, and they brought the LORD’s offering for the work of the tabernacle of meeting, for all its service, and for the holy garments. They came, both men and women, as many as had a willing heart, and brought earrings and nose rings, rings and necklaces, all jewelry of gold, that is, every man who made an offering of gold to the LORD. And every man, with whom was found blue, purple, and scarlet thread, fine linen, and goats’ hair, red skins of rams, and badger skins, brought them. Everyone who offered an offering of silver or bronze brought the LORD’s offering. And everyone with whom was found acacia wood for any work of the service, brought it. All the women who were gifted artisans spun yarn with their hands, and brought what they had spun, of blue, purple, and scarlet, and fine linen. And all the women whose hearts stirred with wisdom spun yarn of goats’ hair. The rulers brought onyx stones, and the stones to be set in the ephod and in the breastplate, and spices and oil for the light, for the anointing oil, and for the sweet incense. The children of Israel brought a freewill offering to the LORD, all the men and women whose hearts were willing to bring material for all kinds of work which the LORD, by the hand of Moses, had commanded to be done. (Exodus 35:21-29 NKJV)
Principle
I will generously give back to God when I understand how God first generously gave to me.
The heart of a born-again Christian is a new heart that willingly gives!
Principle
God has good works for me to do wherever I go.
"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them."
-Ephesians 2:8-10 NKJV
Principle
God's work must be done for God's glory.
Don't seek praise, instead seek God's glory.
“And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward."
-Matthew 6:5 NKJV
When we do God's work as He commands, then we see God's glory.
