ALL HONOR TO HIS NAME
John D. (Jack) Field, 32 year resident of Naples, passed away December 18, 2014. He was born July 30, 1920 in Detroit, MI, the son of Alexander Field and Mary DeSaussure Field. He was educated in the Cincinnati public schools and a graduate of the University of Cincinnati where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. During World War II he served in the Army Air Force in the Air Transport Command.
After the war he was employed by Proctor and Gamble and later with Western Southern Life Insurance Company as their Chief Investment Officer. While in Cincinnati he was an avid boater and squash player. He retired to Marco Island in 1983, and at age 70 moved to The Vineyards to take up golf (and soon made a hole-in-one). He and his wife, Betty, were the first residents to move into Aston Gardens in May, 2000.
Jack was predeceased by his wife, Betty; his parents; and his brother, Alexander, Jr.
He is survived by his sister, Harriet Field Kricker of Cincinnati, OH; nephew, Fred Negelson (Jean) of Fort Myers, FL; nephew, Ted Negelson (Elaine) of Louden, TN; niece, Mary Pinson of Cincinnati, OH; sister-in-law, Jean Cook (Bob) of Pittsburg, PA; and several great nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 9801 Bonita Beach Road, Bonita Springs, FL. Burial will be at a later date in Cincinnati.
Memorial contributions in Jack's memory may be made to St. Mary's Episcopal Church.
