The following table describes the train working at Swanage in 1924 as described in the Working
Timetable 1924 (WTT) published in Branch Lines of the Southern Railway Volume 1 by George Reeves and Chris Hawkins and, presumably, the public timetable July 1924 in Branch Line to Swanage by Vic Mitchell and Keith Smith. There are some discrepancies of a few minutes between the listings. The working timetable includes the goods workings and also the 0630 Wareham which is presumably ECS as it does not appear in the public timetable. The public timetable also shows Waterloo departures. I assume that requires a change at Wareham or maybe elsewhere when the
Swanage train does not originate from or terminate at Wareham.
I would welcome further input on these or any other comments. Please send comments to John Walker (see bottom of page).
