Corfe Castle Cattle Dock

Here is my trial print for the base of the cattle dock.

This piece measures 25mm x 14mm, so quite small! It is printed in Shapeways FED and I have coloured it with a black permanent marker to show up the detail. It will probably be painted in its final form although I might experiment with coloured ink. This material seems to take spirit based colouring quite well albeit a bit glossy.

Here is the cattle dock as refurbished in 2015. The blocks are 4 1/2" x 2 1/4" at the base, 3 1/2" x 1 1/4" at the top and 1/2" deep. I think they will look too flat etched so I have drawn them in 3D ready for a trial print. On my next visit I need the overall dimensions and position of the posts. I am scouring my books and updating my References.

Next job is to draw my interpretation at 3mm:1ft assuming a 3D printed base glued to plywood, rail posts and etched rails.
