Quiet but not idle - 14 April 2012
I may have been quiet over the last few months but I have not been idle.
My O Gauge in the Garden blog shows progress on insulating the garage where much of my 3mm layout will be housed. I have built one baseboard so far for the hidden sidings which will sit on top of my O gauge hidden sidings. On the opposite side of the garage will be Hamworthy Junction. I have templotted enough of Hamworthy Junction to see how it will fit, as shown below.
The hidden sidings are on the left and Hamworthy Junction is centre right looking east. The mock up top centre and about 14 inches above Hamworthy Junction shows the alignment for Wareham which will run the length of the garage plus my back room. All looks feasible so far.
Before I do much more on the hidden sidings I wanted to be sure that they included enough storage space for the stock needed to run a prototypical 24 hour working timetable. I am working on a simulation of that using Train Brain, which is the software which comes with the control system from CTI Electronics. More on that another time.
