'Stop Preaching God's Love, For Heaven's Sake' Is A Book Challenging The Church In This Era
Stop Preaching God's Love, For Heaven's Sake
My heart is, and has been burdened regarding the state of the Church over the last thirty years or so, and how badly we have taken on many traditions of men. These also, are beliefs that invalidate The bible as The lord jesus scolded the Pharisees for. I have been feeling compelled by God to author a book and expose what I believe to be the main or fundamental cause that enables us to develop these unscriptural traditions.
But when I have talked about these things with church leaders and Christians, whilst they are in agreement that we now preach a sugar-coated message of Christ, they just cannot see the immensity of the crisis. It jeopardizes their presuppositions far too much. I had to write a data type work, with plenty of statistics validating what I am trying to present.
Throughout the many years, I have not read many publications of various established Christian authors. I examine the Scriptures in diverse translations and I have developed an excellent reference library of Bible dictionaries, Greek & Hebrew dictionaries, commentaries and numerous other publications.
However, roughly 4 years ago in the middle of a personal tragedy, I needed Spiritual encouragement and extended my company Facebook account to Christian friends. I built up roughly a hundred Christian friends as well as acquaintances of friends. It was a helpful support network, however, I discovered believers who also thought like me. I was astonished. There were quotations from distinguished Christian writers and church leaders, that I knew of, but had not read any of their publications. These were so confirmational for me, so I have sited many in this book.
'Stop Preaching God's Love, For Heaven's Sake'
My central argument is that, Christians have talked, proclaimed, read, written, taught and preached, far too much on how 'God loves us soooo much and has a wonderful plan for our life.
This has then forced other crucial qualities of God, to the background - Divine retribution, the lake of fire, winning over sin, obedience, perseverance, how truly evil sin is, how imperative Godliness is, etc..... and it has caused us to understand the Word of God badly in a host of ways. Believers have developed erroneous doctrines that guide our lifestyles and our churches. Issues like, never judge anyone; never expose sinfulness; unity without exception; anyone who says anything that can offend somebody is not a 'good' Christian.....etc.
