'Stop Preaching God's Love, For Heaven's Sake' Is A Handbook To confront The Church In The Post-Modern Era
Stop Preaching God's Love, For Heaven's Sake
My spirit is, and has been troubled about the condition of the Church during the past 30 years or so, and how badly we have acquired a range of traditions of men. These too, are customs that annul Scripture as Jesus scolded the Pharisees for. I have been feeling burdened by God to write and uncover what I believe to be the key or root cause that allows us to develop these unbiblical traditions.
Though when I have talked about these things with pastors and Believers, while they are in agreement that we now carry a sugar-coated gospel, they simply are not able to see the vastness of the crisis. It imperils their foundational beliefs far too much. I wanted to author a fact type work, with much facts and figures proving what I am trying to convey.
Through my many years, I have not read through the various books of other recognized Christian authors. I study the Scriptures in a range of versions and I have formed a pretty good resource library of Bible dictionaries, Greek & Hebrew dictionaries, commentaries and many other books.
However, approximately four years ago in the midst of a personal calamity, I required Spiritual support and extended my business Facebook profile to friends. I acquired approximately a hundred friends and friends of friends. It was a valuable support group, however, I noticed Christians who believed like I did. I was impressed. There were quotations from distinguished Christian authors and preachers, that I recognized, but had not read through any of their books. These were so substantiating for me, so I have sited a lot of them in this treatise.
'Stop Preaching God's Love, For Heaven's Sake'
My central argument is that, Christians have written, talked, taught, proclaimed, preached and read, far too much on the subject of how 'God loves us soooo much and has a wonderful plan for our life'.
This has then moved other chief qualities of God, into the fringes - God's justice, the lake of fire, dealing with sin, completesubmission to God, enduring troubles, how fundamentally evil sin is, how essential holiness is, etc... and it has caused us to read the Word of God inaccurately in a host of ways. Believers have formulated erroneous teachings that guide our lifestyles and our church. Matters like, never judge anybody; never correct sinfulness; unity at all costs; anybody that affirms anything that may distress somebody is not 'helpful'........etc.
