The reasons why I Write The Book 'Stop Preaching God's Love, For Heaven's Sake'?
Stop Preaching God's Love, For Heaven's Sake
My heart is, and has been troubled concerning the condition of the Church in the last thirty years or so, and how badly we have adopted all kinds of traditions of men. These also, are customs that annul Scripture as Jesus scolded the Pharisees for. I have been feeling compelled by God to write a book and expose what I believe to be the main or fundamental cause that allows us to build these unscriptural traditions.
Though when I have discussed these things with church leaders and Believers, while they recognize we do indeed preach a sugar-coated message of Christ, they just can't perceive the immensity of the problem. It challenges their presuppositions far too much. I needed to write a data based work, with plenty of statistics demonstrating what I am trying to present.
Throughout my many years, I have not read the various books of other well known Christian writers. I read the Scriptures in different translations and I have developed a good resource library of textbooks and various additional publications.
However, about four years ago in the middle of a personal tragedy, I needed Christian support and extended my company Facebook page to friends. I acquired about a hundred friends in addition to acquaintances of friends. It was a useful support group, but more than that, I found Christians who thought like me. I was astonished. There were quotations of notable Christian writers and pastors, that I knew of, but had not read any of their books. These were so confirming for me, so I have placed a lot of them in this book.
'Stop Preaching God's Love, For Heaven's Sake'
My essential dissertation is that, believers have proclaimed, written, read, talked, taught and preached, far too much on the subject of how 'God loves us soooo much and has a wonderful plan for our life'.
This has then shoved other essential qualities of God, into the fringes - Divine retribution, hades, conquering sin, obedience, enduring troubles, how terribly evil sin is, how important Godliness is, etc.... and it has prompted us to interpret the Scriptures erroneously in many ways. We have created erroneous theology that guide our life and our churches. Matters such as, judge not anyone; never correct sinfulness; unity without exception; anyone that suggests anything that might distress somebody is not 'Christ-like........etc.
