Book Bear Election

October & November 2012

I ran across the original idea for a book bear (or other animal/character) election on the PUBYAC listserv. Here is a link to the post. A Book Bear Election seemed like a great way for kids to get involved in the election process.

I created flyers for each of my branches that had the following information:

• Date nominations were due (3 weeks for kids to submit their nominations)
• Date ballots would be available (available 1 week after nominations close)
• Date voting would end (2 weeks for voting)
• Date results would be announced (during story time & through flyers/bulletin boards in the libraries during the week of the presidential election)
