X-wings

Blue Leader (Prototype)

Prototype X-wing constructed for Episode 4. Repurposed as Red 2 for that movie.

Red Leader - Episode 4

The Red leader model has been seen with two different astromech droids, but was shown with an entirely different droid on film during the Battle of Yavin.

Red 4 - Episode 4

Red 5

The "Red 5" model was also used for Luke's X-wing as he leaves Hoth in The Empire Strikes Back, and when he leaves Tatooine in Return of the Jedi.

Models used for Red 7 through 9 are unknown

Red 10 - Episode 4

Red 11 model used is unknown

Notes:

-Astromech droids used in models do not always match with what droids are shown behind actors on screen.

-Astromechs were swapped around between fighter models in some cases.

-Models were sometimes used multiple times in one shot (The "Red 5" model used more than once at the Battle of Yavin, the "Red 5" model used more than once at the end of The Empire Strikes Back, and the "Red 3" model used more than once right before the rebel fleet goes into hyperspace in Return of the Jedi)

Y-wings

"Red Jammer" (Prototype)

Was not used on screen.

Gold Leader - Episode 4

AKA "TIE Killer"

While the model of Gold Leader shows two different astromech droids, there was none shown in the film during the Battle of Yavin.

Gold 2 - Episode 4

AKA "Tiger Sprockets"

Owned by Alan Ladd Jr.

The Action Fleet Y-wing looks similar to this model.

This model was shown on the Y-wing card for the Star Wars Customizable Card Game (SW:CCG), while the image used for "Gold 2" in the card game uses the "Red Jammer" model.

Gold 3 - Episode 4

Did not appear on screen and was later used in Episodes 5 (at the end of the film) and 6.

Gray leader?- Episode 6

AKA Bill George Y-wing

Extra - CGI models and MISC images

The X-wing CGI models used for Episode 4 were all very similar. All were designated "Red 2", as shown on their wings. The droids all looked similar also, at least for this shot of the movie. There is some variations in the nose markings, but that's it. For some reason all this past the editing stage of the movie.

All Y-wing CGI models used for Episode 4 were also similar. They seem to be based on the "Gold 3" model.

CGI X-wing model with similar nose markings to "Red 5", but has a red droid and "Red 2" markings on the wings.

X-wings ("Red 3" models) flying to the hyperspace point in Episode 6.

"Red 5" X-wing model during the Battle of Endor.

Two images of an X-wing model (Red 3?) flying (underside shown) inside the Death Star II.

"Red 2" X-wing model used for Wedge Antilles during the Battle of Endor.

ILM Y-wing model designated "Gold 3" in canon* (left) and CGI model (right)

*original ILM model might of been the Gold Leader model reused (theory)
