World Finals

Biggest annual event for aquabikes (Personal Watercraft - PWC) in the world. It is held from 1982 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, USA). It is considered to be the Super Bowl of PWC riding (US open Championship). For many years USA athletes dominate the sport, which is not any more accurate in 2010. USA athletes are not much competing out of country and well organised World Finals is great event for US athletes meet rivals from other countries - Brazil, Australia, Thailand, Japan and many countries of Europe. More than 30 nations are presented on this event.

There are many events in one week to run: closed course for Runabouts and Jet Ski, slalom, freestyle and GP. Athletes are divided in many classes depending of the PWC (stock, modified etc.). There are classes for womens and juniors. Many classes are divided in smaller groups depending of skills of the drivers: beginner, novice, veterans, expert and pro. Pro is most valuable, where you have to qualify or you have to be invited. Best riders are often sponsored by PWC producers. 20 best drivers are competing in closed course races. They have many starts -motos (two in one day per class). See list of classes for 2011 below.

To see winners in most valuable pro classes, see page Aquabike Champions (see section World Finals).

The schedule general begins with Novices during the beginning of the week and ends with Pro and select Pro Am classes on the weekend. The modification of the classes, particularly changes in skill ranking, reflect the IJSBA's policy of shifting faster speeds upwards in skill level and the policy of having speed and cost controls built into Amateur and enthusiast focused classes.
