Dow argues that the settlement of Hampton was co-
eval with the grant.91 The records which I have seen
lead me to believe that while some preparatory work may
have been done in the fall of 1638, no actual settlement
was made before the spring or summer of 1639. The first
page of baptisms in the Hampton town records was evi-
dently written by Bachiler himself. A copy from the
Town Record, vol. I, fo. 72, follows :—
John the sonne of Christopher Hussey & Theodate his wife was
baptized at Lin on the last day of ye last mo: Ao 1635.
Mary the daughter of the said Christopher & Theodate was baptized
at Newbury on ye 2d of ye 2d month 1638.

John Hussey, "late of Hamp Town in New Hampshire, near piscatoway in New
England," by deed of 1 July 1695, purchased 340 acres of land near New Castle,
Del., and here he died in 1707. His mother-in-law probably accompanied him
to the Delaware, as we find that administration on the estate of Susanna Perkins
was granted 17 July 1699, to John Hussey, principal creditor.

Elizabeth Cope
Elizabeth Cope was married twice. Her first husband was a man with the name of Foulk or something similar to that. They had two children, Sarah and Stephen.
No contemporary record has been found which gives the first or last name of Elizabeth's husband. As shown below, later records give the surname as Folck, Folk, Foulk, and Foulke.
The book Babb Families of America, citing the "Records of Robert E. Babb Jr. of Charleston, SC" as the source, reported that "Sarah was the dau of William and Elizabeth (Cope) Foulk of Bethel township, where Sarah was b. ca. 1708". Bethel township, then in Chester Co. but now in Delaware Co., bordered Brandywine Hundred of New Castle County, now Delaware.
Elizabeth was married to her second husband Hugh Blackwell by 30 November 1721, on which date she was listed as Elizabeth Blackwell, a witness to the marriage of her brother John Cope/Coope and Charity Evans, daughter of Robert and Jane Jefferis. Other witnesses were John Willis, Esther Willis, and Esther Willis Jr. Presumably this Esther Jr. would later married Stephen Foulk.
The earliest known record of Hugh Blackwell is his appearance as a witness to a New Castle County deed between John Baldwin and Edward Erby. The deed was dated 7 May 1718, and the witnesses appeared to sign on 19 May 1719. See

Examples of the "Foulk" Surname
The earliest reliable records of the "Foulk" surname in Elizabeth Cope's line appear to be in the 1724/25 and 1725 tax records of Thornbury Township, Chester County, which listed her son Stephen "Folk" as a landowner. (See the tax records below.)
The only mention of the surname of Elizabeth's daughter Sarah is in the 1729 record of her marriage to Thomas Babb Jr., son of Thomas Babb Sr. and Bathsheba Hussey of Brandywine Hundred, New Castle County, (now Delaware). They were married on 12 June 1729 at Holy Trinity (Old Swedes) Church, Wilmington, Delaware under a Governor's license:

Thomas Babb was a Quaker, but evidently Sarah was of a different religious persuasion. Moreover, according to records of Newark/Kennett Monthly Meetings, Thomas Babb Jr. had carnal knowledge with her (i.e., Sarah) before marriage which occasioned him to accomplish his marriage disorderly:

================================================================================
Ancestry of the Father of Stephen Foulk and and Sarah Foulk Babb
Unfortunately, nothing is known with certainty about the identity and ancestry of the man who was the first husband of Elizabeth Cope and the father of Stephen Foulk and Sarah Foulk Babb.
As mentioned previously, one source stated that his name first name was William. However, without additional information, the name of William will be treated here as only anectdotal and not as definitive.
No marriage record for Elizabeth Cope and Mr. Foulk has been found. However, given that Sarah married Thomas Babb in the 1729, it would make sense that they were married before 1710. Moreover, the 1725 tax records for Thornbury Township, Chester County list Stephen "Folk" as a landowner. If Stephen was required to be at least 21 years old to be listed in his own right, then his birth year would be about 1704, suggesting that Elizabeth and Mr. Foulk were married about 1703.
Our Mr. Foulk does not appear to have had any connection with the prominent Quaker family of Edward and Eleanor (Hugh) Foulke, who came from Coed-y-foel, Merionethshire, Wales in 1698 and settled in Gwynedd Township in what is now Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. (For more information on this family, see, for example, http://www.gwyneddmeeting.org/history/foulke.htm .)
NOTE:
It is sometimes speculated that siblings Stephen and Sarah Foulk were descendants of an early settler named Owen Foulk. There is no proof of any connection, but for the sake of completeness, here is a link to a compilation of information on Owen Foulk (who name was variously spelled) and associated individuals:
Notes on Owen Foulk etc.
