MYTH #1 FOOT DOWN EARLY / STAY BACK
Once stride leg is up it is no longer active
When Stride foot goes down independently of back leg the hitter must then find a new source of power. Ie upper body/hands
Staying back forces the hitter to make early swing decisions and often miss second read.
MYTH #2 STAY INSIDE THE BALL WITH HANDS
Staying Inside the ball is a by product of correct swing sequence,
not by the hands working independently of the body.
Pulling the knob to the ball cause the hitter to drag the bat on a steep downward plane
The hitters top hand/arm should not extend actively
MYTH #3 STRONG TOP HAND
Strong top hand does not mean top hand stays on top.
Roll overs are caused by top hand staying on top too long
The result of strong top hand is steep swing planes
MYTH #4 EXTENSION
Extension is the product of correct launch and swing sequence
Extenstion is created by bat whip, not the hands
Extension is created not forced
MYTH #5 SWING DOWN/SWING UP
Swinging down/up is a steep low contact rate swing
If swing plane is opposite pitch plane squaring the ball is very difficult.
Steep swings struggle staying on offspeed pitches
Up swings struggle to hit balls in top of zone
MYTH #6 CREATE BACKSPIN
Backspin can not be forced
Forcing backspin creates short fly balls and ground balls
The most backspin ball is a fly ball to catcher.
