A founding member and past president of the Washington Wildlife & Recreation Coalition, he served for 12 years on the Washington State Fish & Wildlife Commission, assisting in the organization's shift toward habitat management through comprehensive long-range planning and goal-setting and instrumental in the development of Washington’s Wild Salmonid Policy.
